Grows at a fast rate up to 30m liking full sun and a deep rich loam, sand or clay soil such as near a lake or river. It is know for its fragrant scent but has small flowers which are hardly noticeable.
Fruit: Large sticky buds have a balsamic fragrance.
Timber: The timber is soft and used mainly as a source of pulp.
Soil Types / Habitat: Prefers well drained soil in most areas however will not tolerate coastal or exposed sites.
